We are pleased to announce we are expecting a litter of puppies in November 2022 from a mating between:

Sire Nacho (Redrafi Mrembo Nacho) and Dam Nala (Zoldmali Zeller At Ohana)

About Nacho, Redrafi Mrembo Nacho

Nacho won Best of Breed at Crufts 2022. He is a credit to his breeder, Jo Sweeney, Redrafi Kennel. Nacho has great looks and natural working ability, backed by a lovely temperament. We chose Nacho as the stud dog because we believe that he compliments Nala extremely well.

Health Test Information

If you are thinking of buying a Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla puppy, in addition to ensuring that the sire and dame have good temperament and meet breed conformation standards; it is essential that you know the health issues that may be found in the breed. To tackle these issues the Kennel Club advise that breeders use DNA tests, screening schemes and inbreeding coefficient calculators to help breed the healthiest dogs possible.

The priority health schemes / tests that were conducted on our Hungarian Wirehaired Vizslas (HWV) were: screening for Hip Dysplasia (assessed by hip scores) and screening to ensure HWV are not ‘affected’ by HUU disease and assess their HUU status; which is determined by genetic tests.

Puppy updates to follow

If you are interested in a puppy,

please contact us 🙂

Hungarian Wirehaired Vizslas have a long puppy phase (upto 1 year), and we found Nala’s high energy when she was young challenging; requiring us to have lots of patients and understanding.

The breed is suited to active households. As ‘working dogs’, they thrive in an environment where they are actively engaged, and training with an HPR specialist / club is advised.
